Pushing Past Limits, One Rep at a Time 💪

In April, Kathleen will celebrate three years of unwavering dedication to ReBoot at CrossFit Trussville (CFT). Five days a week, every week, she has shown up—not just for fitness, but for herself. It’s been three years of "me time," growth, and discovering what she is truly capable of.

Like many athletes, she once had a mental barrier: the 35-pound dumbbells. For two years, she believed they were out of reach. But through consistent effort and a willingness to challenge herself, she began incorporating them into workouts—starting small, with single DB movements and low reps.

Then, in September, something incredible happened.

The Power of Encouragement and Community ✨

Coach Christy saw what Kathleen was capable of before she even believed it herself. With a simple yet powerful push—“Yes, you can”—Kathleen took on the challenge of double 35s in a workout. And she did it.

Kathleen recalls,

“I wonder how many times in those first two years I said I’d never pick up the 35# dumbbells. Slowly, this year, I picked it up. If the workout was a single DB movement and a low number of reps. Then in September, Coach Christy encouraged me to do the DOUBLE 35s in the workout—and I did it. 💪🏼 The thing I never thought I would/could do.”

That moment wasn’t just about lifting heavier weights. It was about breaking through mental barriers, proving to herself that she is stronger than she ever imagined.
